Bringing people to a saving faith in Jesus Christ by making disciples who make disciples

Our Vision:

To serve our local community and invest in the next generation

Our Values

We strive to be:

-A place where Everybody Belongs: We long to be an extended family that cares, loves, and supports one another.

-A people who choose to be Intentional Disciples: We long to be a people who choose the ways of Jesus (in generosity, spiritual growth, and grace).

-A congregation of People of Peace: We long to be people who choose the non-anxious, hopeful, and mission-focused message of Jesus in the midst of an anxious world.

Our History

Established in 1847 by Zeeland's first Dutch settlers, First Reformed Church has a long history our community. We value the legacies of faith within our church family and we are eagerly stepping into God's future for us with each changing generation. We appreciate the unique experiences, gifts, and learning opportunities that people of all ages and life stages bring to our church family.

Our Beliefs

We believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and that he lived, died, and rose again. Christ's resurrection is the reason for the hope that we have, and we are eager to share this good news!

As part of the Reformed Church in America, there are statements (such as The Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed) that describe our faith, and statements of unity (such as the Heidelberg Catechism and the Confession of Belhar) that describe the beliefs of our denomination. For more information or to read any of these statements, check out the Reformed Church in America website.
