All throughout the year, FRCZ offers a number of ways for adults to journey down the road of discipleship, including educational classes and serving opportunities. Current and ongoing opportunities are listed below; contact the church office (616-772-9129) or the facilitators listed below for more information.
Worship Works: Starting Sunday, September 15 at 10:45 am in the Family Life Center
Facilitated by Director of Worship Arts, Jordan Clegg
This four week, intergenerational class will seek to deepen our understanding of Christian worship by exploring biblical and historical roots of worship, analyzing a Reformed theology of worship, and examining a faithful convergence of worship and culture
Organic Outreach: Starting Wednesday, September 18 at 6:30 pm in the El Cove
Facilitated by Kathy Huston and Bob King
The Evangelism team will lead a new Wednesday night Organic Outreach class in follow up to the class offered last winter. Organic Outreach is simply to naturally share our faith. In response to feedback after the first class, we will take a deeper into the topic, with more discussion in a workshop setting. Anyone is welcome, whether or not you attended the class last winter. We will ask everyone to read the book Organic Outreach for Ordinary People and to make your best effort to do the homework and attend each session. If you would like to join us in this exciting and challenging 10-week adventure, please sign up online or on the signup sheet in the narthex.
OTHER DISCIPLESHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Tuesdays, 9:30-11:00 am
Location: Conference Room (main floor)
Facilitator: Marcia Walters
All women are invited to the women's Bible Study. This fall our study will be The Road, The Rock, and The Rabbi by Kathi Lee Gifford and Rabbi Jason Sobel. We have great discussion and fellowship and would love for anyone to share in this time of spiritual growth and challenges as we study God's word and how we can apply it to our life. Our study will start on September 10 at 9:30, ending around 11:00.
“Men’s Life- Discussion/Study”
Every other Wednesday morning, 6:00-7:00 am
Location: Russ’ East Town
Facilitator: Mike Morren
You are invited to join with men from their 20’s to the ‘last quartile of life’ in a relaxed time of discussion over breakfast. Conversation is based on various books written by Christian men. This time of fellowship will enable you to grow deeper in your walk with Jesus and other guys, and discover the support you need to face the issues of daily life. If you have any questions, contact Mike Morren.
JOY GROUP (Just Older Youth)
For those who are 60+ years young, the JOY Group provides a great opportunity for fellowship with regularly scheduled outings and events. Sign up information will be announced in the bulletin.
