Tom was originally a Viking at Wyoming Park High School.  He then took on the prestigious role of a Flying Dutchman, graduating from Hope College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry.  Hired at FRCZ following graduation, he then went on to get his M.Div. at Western Theological Seminary and an M.A. in counseling from WMU while working at the church.  He has served FRCZ since 1988 and is most excited about serving here because he sees it as a supportive spiritual family where everyone is valued and appreciated.  In 2012, Tom transitioned into the role of lead pastor for FRCZ, specifically tasked with leading the church staff and leadership in discerning God's vision for our future and istepping into that vision.  Tom is married to Michelle and together they enjoy their three young adult children Molly, Camden, and Mallory.  When he's not serving in ministry roles, Tom enjoys running, swimming, camping, singing and planning social gatherings!
